Good Lord. What a dangerous method of revealing the gender of your kid. Why fireworks? $1: "CAL FIRE Law Enforcement has determined the El Dorado Fire, burning near Oak Glen in San Bernardino County, was caused by a smoke generating pyrotechnic device, used during a gender reveal party," Cal Fire said on Twitter.
"Those responsible for starting fires due to negligence or illegal activity can be held financially and criminally responsible," it warned. The people responsible are so f*cked now.

I have come to the conclusion that the people who live in southern California are too fucking stupid to possess ANY trees, shrubs, grass, or plants of any kind whatsoever. There could be one tree left in southern California. It could be a museum where people go to see what a tree is. It could be fenced off to keep people away from it, and some asshole would still find a way to burn it down. My entire state is covered in smoke today because of these stupid assholes. Time to break out the agent orange and spray every square inch of southern California. Obviously they cannot handle the responsibility of live vegetation of any sort. Fuck em! Anyone caught smuggling any plants or seeds into southern California would be burnt at the stake.

I have never been to a gender reveal party nor know anyone who has had one. Why they have become such a "thing" is beyond me... I have seen them mostly on "Funniest Home Video" shows and usually it's a balloon filled with confetti or something like that that goes sideways, hence being on the show. Using a potentially explosive, fire starting device is just stupid regardless of where you do it but especially bad near anything that could burn, which pretty much covers anywhere.

The Bakersfield area is usually so dry that the bare dirt can catch fire from a tossed cigarette butt so setting off the fireworks anywhere around there is a colossally stupid thing to do. When all is said and done it'll probably just be another situation of "well, those rules don't apply to us!" and these morons probably went out of their way to ignore all the "no open fires" signs.

It seems to he a fad that started up about 10 years ago and for most people is simply something less dramatic like cutting open a cake to reveal the icing colour. But with people obsessing over being fabulous on social media some people get carried aeay. This isn’t the first major fire caused by gender reveal and people also seem to blow themselves up, crash cars and even airplanes with this stupid stuff.

Now you too can celebrate the birth of your child by incinerating a large area of trees and brush with new 'Gender Reveal Wildfire in a Can'. Simply place the can near highly combustible material, pull the top, light the fuse and watch the fun.

If it starts a forest fire, its a boy. If it starts a brush fire, it’s a girl.

None of these were things when I was a kid, and I can't for the life of me understand why they are now. *shakes head* -J.

-J. Because, acceptance. We didn't have gender reveal parties because people insisted there were only two genders, and they were the gender you were born with.

I think that Patriot hit the nail on the head. The millennials are constantly creating new holidays/events, and making bigger deals out of existing holidays. When I was a kid Halloween was a one day event. You could literally buy one of those cheap costumes with the plastic mask (with the rubber band that broke in 10 seconds), and go trick or treating the same day. Now the stores are full of halloween stuff in August. There are stores that only exist for halloween. They open up in August and close in November. Heaven forbid that you don't get your costume by September, all the good stuff is gone by then.
The other day my kid was reminding me of my granddaughters "half birthday". I'm like:NO! I am drawing the line. I am tired of people shaking me down for bullshit celebrations that did not exist 10 years ago. I established a college fund for her that I contribute to every month. I will buy her presents for her real birthday and Christmas. I am NOT signing on for this half birthday bullshit. Enough already.

Do we know what the gender of the baby was.
Rickc, we are approaching my Quarter-Birthday, I expect a gift.
