It's obvious the church of Al Gore is writing their 10 commandments

1) Thou shall not own a suv

2) Thou shall not own a dog or cat

3) Thou shall not own a big, flat screen tv....

The silliness continues....!!! And the war against commonsense conTinues...

I disagree,
I own a 76 pontiac with a 7.5 liter engine
I put on fuel injection last year and a 4 speed overdrive automatic
It is still no prius for mileage but I did improve my mileage by 15%
now new stuff SHOULD just be more efficient
my washer and drier are
my newer computer is
so why not TVs
it has nothing to do with that idiot Gore
it has to do with newer technology being more efficient
its bad enough new stuff only lasts one 10th as long as older stuff
now we have to put up with it being less efficient too?
why not just keep an older tube TV then
oh thats right i cant quite see the wrinkles on Angelinas face with my old tube TV
like I can with the new plasmas and lcd units

They could start with having the things actually shut off. It doesn't take much to light the screen, but they sit there doing shit except for the red light.
$5 worth of circuitry could shut the thing off before the transformer and balance it when it started cold. Might take 1/2 second longer to fire up, that's all.

We've all got so damn lazy we can't walk over and even push a button to turn it on. We want it to idle until you click the remote.
