The high-handed antics of Citizenship and Immigration would only exacerbate Muslim-Christian relations, said Ben-Tahir.

Shove it up your ass. When did it become only about his religion idiot? Is it only Christians who work for Citizenship and Immigration? Stop playing the Religion card.

Good move. Why should Canada open its doors to sponsored and non-diplomatic agents of a foreign government? Would Egypt allow Canadian social workers to work in Egypt?

Yes.

There are many "missions" in Arab and other non-Christian countries looking for "converts".

Don't get me wrong, kick this guy out of Canada, and if he’s legitimate, he can reapply to come back (although I wouldn’t hold my breath) but I would expect the same in any foreign country of our Christian do-gooders.

poquas, I should have clarified that. This imam is an employee of the Egyptian government and I am wondering if Egypt would tolerate employees of the Canadian government proselytizing any sort of opinion (like, say, women's rights) to Egyptians?
