Been to a couple weird border crossings myself, unmanned and empty, just drive on through......of course the road ended a couple miles further at the ranger station. The clear cut is rather amazing running from valley bottom to the mountain peaks, visible for miles.

Back in the days before 9/11 it wasn't uncommon for a lot of rural crossings to be unmanned and unchecked in the wee hours. It just wasn't a worry back then.

Now you can't even stop at the Peace Park without getting stink eye from the Border Patrol.

Thanks Islam.

There was a series on the Smithsonian Channel called 'Canada over the edge' that did a really good part of their Season 3 on the Canada/US border.

Awesome shots! It might be found on certain sites where you can find TV shows . . . [angel]

Yeah, great show, it plays on the Knowledge Network here a couple times a week.

Islam? How about "thanks Bush/Obummer" and "thanks Homeland Security."

Honestly, how much safer are you now that you tightened up security?
