"We're desperate for help but there's no way in hell we'd put him out in the fields. He riles up our other forced labourers too much. Ah, fuck, he's just too much of an asshole to have around" sez Cruelly McCruel, white whip-wielding slave owner....

The New York Jets have ruled out a pursuit of free-agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick as they evaluate their options after Aaron Rodgers' season-ending Achilles injury, according to CBS Sports' Josina Anderson.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz initially reported Tuesday that Kaepernick's agent had reached out to the Jets to say his client was interested in a move to the Big Apple.
At this point, it's tough to see a path back to the NFL for Kaepernick. He turns 36 in November and hasn't suited up for a team since the 2016 season.
Kaepernick filed a grievance against the NFL in October 2017, alleging owners were colluding to keep him out of the league in retaliation for his social activism. The claims of he and former teammate Eric Reid, who had joined the case, were settled in 2019.
There was a time when one could plausibly argue Kaepernick was at least on par with—if not better than—the backups who filled out rosters across the league. Now, making that case is a little tougher given how long he has been away.
The NY Jets are looking at another disastrous season after Aaron Rogers suffered that catastrophic achilles injury in the first four minute of the season opener. And there's multiple other teams that are going to be just as bad as the Jets this year, if not worse. Yet all of them, despite their woes & desperation, still don't want anything to do with a troublemaking loudmouth clown like Kaepernick. Whatever positives he would bring to a team's on-field performance would be wiped out on the spot, in the first seconds after a reporter stuck a mic in front of his mouth, when he decided to compare the owner of the team who's paying him millions of dollars to a slave owner.
And he wasn't that good to begin with, just another flash-in-the-pan with a rapidly declining overall performance after one great season. Only one winning season out of four as a starter, 28W-30L regular season, 4W-2L playoffs, no conference titles, no Super Bowl victories. Kaepernick was never worth it. Not as a QB, not as a team leader, and not even as a son given that he accused his adoptive white parents as being racist for not allowing him to dress like a hood thug when he was in his teens.
Cancel culture is real, and both sides can play it. And in Colin Kaepernick's case cancellation by professional American football was completely deserved.
