I never understood that one. Although I have to say, I never noticed when I was living in Quebec that there was no yellow margarine... [huh]

It was because of the dairy industry and butter.. butter is yellow..margarine should not be yellow because it competed with butter.... why I dont know.. I still cant believe it aint butter ;)

Blast from the past, my little brother sure had fun with this ditty. Particularly at the dinner table.

It's not nice to fool Mother Nature...

If you think it's butter, but its snot. It's Chiffon.

$1:
The lobby did not want Quebecers to be buy yellow margarine if they were really after butter.

So I guess it was for the illiterate? It's so hard to distinguish between BEURRE and MARGARINE, the spelling is so similar

It all makes sense now

They used to sell margarine with little colour packets so you could make it yellow at home.

And no, I'm not old enough to remember that.... my Dad told me about it.

Damn...............I am.

Anybody else remember milk in a bag?

Than what.. a washable glass bottle?
Pretty sad when you're national identity is defined by a milk jug.
