The new Survivor starts tommorow after the Superbowl. I personaly enjoy watching this reality show. Who do you think will go first?

I think it will be Gerry (blue bikini)

Heres my quiestion, if you went on survivor, what luxury item would you take with you?

I'm in two Survivor pools.

So I have to root for Tina or Jenna M.

But I don't think either will win.

I think Colby has a good chance. He should have won Australia though, not Tina.

I do agree with you on this fear factor is not as bad as some of the other shows for sure.

I think the whole show is a farce! Reality tv!!! Where in reality would you compete for food by playing games and vote people off your little island or tribe cause you didnt like them? lol. Wonder why they havent done a survivor Alaska or Survivor Iceland!! lol. Too much reality I guess.

But I'm going for the guy with the beard. The older guy. Cant remember his name.

i haven't been watching survivor or anything like that....ever since reality tv exploded and took over the entire programming schedulei got to hating it. i don't even like fear factor...it's just the same things all the time. all you ever see on fear factor are these 3 things: eating disgusting stuff, climbing on stuff that's really hig up, or being immersed in creepy crawly creatures....oh and the occasional houdini re-hash. i know this because my roommates watch the show while i am on CKA. the worst programming on tv these days is those damn home remodelling/makeover shows. even much music has jumped on this god-awful band wagon. as if TLC doesn't have enough of them already! (there are 6 - 1hr shows, at least) now much is playing less music videos (which, by the way is the POINT of the station).

anyway, there IS one realy tv type program that i enjoy just because it is so funny as in the "stupid" funny kind of way, and that is the one where that woman has to marry some actor guy whos is pretending to be a class 1 fuck up....i think it is called "my big fat obnoxious fiancee" or something like that.

ps. did anyone catch rex murphy's comment on that paris hilton show?

I love Survivor. It's my guilty pleasure. My friends and I make it even more interesting with a pool. This time there's about $150 for the winner.
Here's my picks, think I'll win? I went with the "all women" theme.

I'm Dave by the way

It's a grrrrreat show. People in the elements and after all these shows they still can't get it right. Shelter, fire then water/food. If the first can be produced within the first two days then they're laughing and warm and maybe a little thirsty and hungry.

Richard Hatch just kills me. He's keeping to himself (I missed the last show where someone went home voluntarily) and couldn't care less what the others think or do. Looks like he porked up for this event perhaps knowing the people who would be on his team and how useless they turned out to be. He looks like he's ready for hibernation. While the rest of the team (?) squabble he's living comfortably off his stored fat. Smart guy. And a naked guy, ewwww! most of the time too. What a hoot. Can't help but hope he wins. You go boy! But I might change my mind later. After all, that's my perogative.

I don't think anyone in the reality genre truly claims that any of these shows represent Reality in any way. Reality is too boring. No one wants to watch an average person live their average life. TV is meant to be an escape. And that's what makes Reality TV compelling. It is taking reasonable average people that the viewer can identify with (rather than actors that the average person can't relate to) and throwing them in unusual situations.

It would be fun to see Richard Hatch go far. I don't see him winning again (people won't vote for him to win, if it comes down to a final two), but he adds a lot of humour to the show. He really is full of himself, isn't he?

Did you see it last night? That conniving, sneaky, snake-in--the grass Rob C bit the bullet. He was shell shocked I tells ya! Bet he goes home and claims some kind of disability for PTSD.

This is the same as all the rest, how you can cull this one from the herd and call it better is beyond me.

Back to original question:

I would bring a magnifying glass, except that they end up giving everyone fire for free given their incompetence.

Next choice would be a pillow.

it amazes me how these people know they're going on a survival show and they don't learn how to make a fire without flint or how to fish before they go.

I would have to say toothbrush...i don't know how they can go so long without brushing their teeth :? , even if it would be without toothpaste it would be better than not being able to brush them at all.
And yes i know that they sometimes have toothbrushes as part of the rewards, but there's a 50/50 chance your not gonna win that particular event.
