Perfect roads, perfect weather, and lots of bikes ! Went for Harley Days in Biograd, and a run down the coast.
First, to get there:
Lunch in Slovenia
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, BBQ pork, been cooling all morning
First stop: Plitvice Lakes, a National Park with lots of waterfalls.
Lots of fishies for PF, all carp..
This waterfall is 80 meteres high, more than Niagara:

Freaking long walk up.. see that little walkway down the bottom ? You use that to visit the big waterfall.
Then, walk up, the whole park is a big depression in the ground.

The roads in Croatia are just awesome for bikes !!
Not much traffic ( in May ), lots of easy curves to go rolling through...
Up the hill;
The next bunch of pics are on the coast..
The new Croatia:

People can from all over for the Harley Days..
This an old Renault 4, quite a few of them still around. Some members may remember Bossdog bought one a had it all fixed up.
And the new version.. Dacia Logan, made by Renault
Finally, evening in KRK.
Just loved riding around here. the Croats should be calling all bikers to come visit (and spend money ) We'll be going back !

Weather was perfect
Croatia looks great, very Mediterranean, without all the loudmouth Spics and Wops.
Only 'quiet' Slavs... well, the wars are over, now..

Glad I'm riding it, not walking it.
Saw one house that looked like it had been bombed and not rebuilt, but didnt get a chance for a pic. We made it south of Split, down into Makarska. When we go back, it'll be a run into Bosnia, towards Mostar as well.
We heard that Biograd got pounded pretty good during the war; well, it's all been redone, happy to report.

Wonderful pics, Martin.
Looks like the war ravaged beaches have recovered well. I'm very glad to see that.

Croatia has a lot of potential with tourism.

Unless I'm mistaken, tourism was one of Croatia's main industries prior to the war. The devastation of the beaches, hotels, resorts, etc., crippled the economy there for several years. I think... my memory's not what it used to be.

I think it's been a getaway place since the time of Rome.....and as Martin pointed out, no Italians, Frenchmen or Spaniards to ruin the scenery.
