I agree it should be in the Expat section. I was wondering when I posted actually, why it was in Canadian Culture lol...

Then who is the mod for this section ?? or better , yet who would be the best one to send a PM.

I can get Canada Dry Ginger ale at the local market here where I am in Scotland. I can send you a box if you want?

You can also order Clamatos from the Canada Shop in London. They ship all over the place :D

Well I'm not really an expat but I am away from home half the year. I rotate into Siberia 35 days in and 35 days out.

Can't get:
Clamato juice - All this cheap vodka and unless I hump it in, no Cesaer.
Rootbeer - the Russians hate the taste of it.
Peanut butter

Very rarely I can find Plain Lays chips otherwise it's a wide variety of wierd flavours. Did you know that Lays tailors it's products to the tastes of the people they sell it too. Makes sense I guess, but you'll never find salt 'n vinigar here.

Other stuff missed:

Roughrider games
Hockey playoffs

But the important things I've missed are:

my first daughters birth
to many other birthdays to count
holidays
first words
first teeth
dance recitals
children's sports
bruised and skinned knees
children climbing into bed with us in the middle of the night because, well they had a bad dream

But for all that I have missed, I've got the best job in the world...

when I'm home.

For me... it would be the Maple Syrup. I have an uncle that makes it from an old original Wood Fired Evaporator

* Spring, winter and autumn. (It was 32 C today and the low should be about 23 C)
* Water I can drink from the tap.
* Sidewalks that are traffic free.
* Sugar free soda.
* Teen burgers and onion rings.
* Pizza without corn, peas and multiple forms of sealife.
* Not having to wonder what kind of meat I'm eating.
* People that chew with their mouths closed and can speak without shouting.
* Traffic that isn't a full contact event.
* The sound of English as opposed to Eengrish.

"natooke: Why are you in Sweeden? Isn't it like Canada Lite?"

Hi sapper.

I met & married a Swede :D been here for 16 years ... I'm a lifer. In many ways Canada & Sweden are alike & I had told a Swede, after asking me why I moved here "isn't Canada and Sweden alot alike" I responed " I moved because I swore the hockey was better" ROTFL

dimoreien what a sweet gesture, but thanks anyways. Not only would that cost an arm and a leg ... swedish customs enjoy taxing for everything  To me, these on-line expat food stores play on the expat who is missing certain types of foods & WAMOOH the poor indivdual is paying out of their nose. It's one thing to be able to walk into a shop (as sapper mentioned) I'm lucky that there are a few stores that cater to expats here & those oh my good "care packages" from home.

Ain't that the truth! Gotta love it when they jimp up on the sidewalk and go the other way instead of pulling a u-turn up the road.

One more - Understanding what's on the menu.
