Congio Congio: kaetz kaetz: hmm... many on these forums wouldn't miss speaking french anywhere, never! ask Tricks for ex! LOL
Why? Tu parle Francais? kaetz kaetz: and maybe even less people would miss multiculturalism! there are sooo many threads here to prove me right!
What are talking about? Multiculturalism is the best! Come to Poland where every one is White, polish, catholic - and try to live here longer that 3 years... You will know what I meant kaetz kaetz: a good apple pie only takes a girlfriend who'd take a recipe from your mom! Yeah, but not here. I don't like polish pastry kaetz kaetz: i heard, they were avowed beauties in Poland... no?
Not in my opinion. I prefer western girls. kaetz kaetz: and well... as for friendliness... Poland is among the last places on earth i would look for it, but then again it's a stereotype! don't be too harsh on me You are absolutely right! I meant I miss that from Canada.
je parle un petit peu, mais à mon regret, j'ai pas de practique... depuis 10 ans pardonne moi ma grammaire!
multiculturalism has it's disadvantages, at least in the shape it exists in many countries, and many in Canada start to realise it. Perhaps you will join them upon getting back...
i wonder how much you actually rememeber of western women trusted that you spent the greater part of your life in Poland and... let me re-count it just to be sure - you're about 18 now?

martin14 martin14: even been to them B ??
No, not really. Been to the Czech Republic last February though, and when we drove back, drove through Poland... A friend of ours goes to Poland every year with his 4 kids. Switzerland or Austria are way too expensive for a ski holiday.
I agree though, Eastern Europe is depressing. Grey flats, grey weather, grey people...

it can be depressing.. sometimes.
funny, i was going to mention price, because the prices for skiing
are now through the roof..
most people the west of Slovakia dont ski in Slovakia any more.
For the same money, they go to Austria, and get much better service.
the Russians are coming here to play..
last time i was in Prague, couldnt hear Czech spoken anymore..
Russian, German English, no Czech.....
I went in 1998, it was the exact opposite.... how things change..

I visited most of Europe. I met lots of Canadians backpacking. But not only.
I love German and Australian women.
I understand what you say about multiculturalism. I see the effects of immigration in France. But, still I'm rather for it. I guess Canada welcomes to much people yearly.
French is a language I learnt so I make mistakes too!

I hear ya...
My brother in law lives in Prague, with his Czech wife and 2 kids. The kids are raised in 3 languages: Czech, because she speaks that with them, Dutch, because he still hardly speaks Czech, and English, because he and his wife speak English with eachother
He has been living there since over 10 years, and still he can only order his food and beer in Czech (na, that is not really true, but he doesn't speak Czech as well as I do English...)

it's good that the kids are raised in three languages, but your bro-in-law's experience is rather discouraging... 10 years in the country! just think of it!

 The sarcasm was obvious, right?
No, I think it is a disgrace. If you fall in love with a woman who speaks another language, your boss transfers you to her country, then the least you can do is to go to a tutor that teaches you the language of the country you are moving to. 1 year, 3 hours a week, and you can handle it... The fluentness has to come from speaking it anyway...

Cherry's on ESPN sports center i heard. Haven't seen it myself but all my American buddies have been making jokes about his attire. They wanted to know if all Canadians had suits and shirts and ties like that. And I said yeah don't you have a suit for going out in. Then I'd laugh really hard and roll my eyes.
Gotta love Don Cherry.
