Figured it's time to get the ball rolling since the election is nearly upon us.

Some interesting developments in my riding.

Retiring Tory MP Ed Fast endorses Mike de Jong in Abbotsford-South Langley

Instead of nomination a well known name in town, and a person with a ton of political and legislative experience, the CPC told him to take a hike and nominated a 25 year old, rich farmer's kid who no one knows and doesn't do media interviews or go to all-candidates meeting's (like 99% of all other CPC nominees).

And it looks like it'll cost them a seat in a riding that is as safe as it gets for the CPC.

If they won't listen to the people now, they won't when they are governing.

"governing" is no longer in the conservative lexicon.

Rule by Emergency Decree
Knowingly violate the Charter of Rights with Notwithstanding clause
Ignore and limit the powers of the Courts
Stuff the landfills with disposable plastic bags again
Turn the Inside Passage into an Oil slick
Remove any say from Provinces, local citizens, native bands affected by projects
Reverse all environmental standards
Treat addiction as criminality again
Make what's between your legs a federal concern
Claim credit for what private concerns build as the govt's
Lie. lie and lie more about your opponents
Praise and promote what used to be as better times
Pretend you benefit the working person by massively cutting their bosses taxes
Treat foreign states who intend to harm you with respect.
Rally around safety, 'brave soldiers' and the flag as the only way to be a patriot
Insist that 'wokeness' and trannies are important federal issues.
Portray living conditions as 100 times worse than they are and only you can fix it
Rely on slogans instead of detailed policies

Best of all pretend and convince fools these are not mini-MAGA Trumpian policies, even when you just changed the word America into Canada First

Be a real Can'tservative and Don't Look Ahead come election day.
A.B.C.

That is the best kind of election.

Campaign, Tell us what you are going to do, we vote, you get to work doing it.

No drama. No bullshit.

As a bonus, my MP was re-elected, as the only NDP member in Alberta. Third term. With luck, the new soon to be Premier will also run in this riding.

Our riding went NDP - CPC. In his first interview after winning he said that Canada wa 'weak'.
Looks like a long grind ahead. Some people are incapable of learning.

Sadly, the CPC won again in my riding. This, despite there being a well known independent candidate and the CPC candidate was a nobody who no one ever saw or heard from. But that's the Fraser Valley for you. Sigh.

You're from Abby aren't you?
I was disgusted DeJong didn't win! My vote is not always NDP, it changes when the times and issues change, and I did admire the guy.
I'm sickened by the extreme right and so called 'social conservatives' have hijacked the entire Conservative agenda.
Blame the Reform party for abandoning all reform in favour of that.

I am. I thought de Jong would do better. He had the endorsement of our outgoing MP plus our former mayor, and it didn't matter. All that mattered was that the guy who won had CPC after his name, and his last name was Gill. Purely reflexive voting and it's infuriating every time.

Grew up a Burnabeing, sister moved to Abby, me to Langley in the 1980s.
I posted upcountry and looked at moving to Abby with the gf 30 years back. Now it's grown way too busy for me.
Always pissed me off that, like Albertans, the Fraser Valley was so damned Corn-servative. Wife and I were called commies, and now they're (CPC) the ones calling for a govt that will set prices, build the homes, build the pipelines and say who gets these 'rights' and who doesn't.

Favourability of Pierre Poilievre decreases with education

$1:
According to a study by the Angus Reid Institute, there is an inverse relationship between education and favourability of Conservative Party of Canada leader Pierre Poilievre.
