I always found if you kill the pope enough times the problem takes care of itself.

I liked attacking his army with my much superior army. I'd fight it out in real time, and it never got old seeing the pope weilding a sword, and dropping like a fly once my cavalry got to him.

Just bought the game. Wish I had a better computer to enjoy the graphics more.
its a great game, right now I'm busy wiping Spain off the map, then it will be France, and then I dunno. but it is alot of fun, and the battles (land or sea) are always alot of fun.
