bootlegga bootlegga: vegetarians; $1: Flexitarians
Flexitarian is a relatively new term for a type of “on and off” vegetarian who eats a basic lacto-ovo vegetarian diet with the addition of meat products on occasion. This group of vegetarians is sometimes criticized for their lack of commitment to the vegetarian cause. Some flexitarians use this more flexible form of vegetarianism to test the waters and eventually transition over to more restrictive types of vegetarianism. http://www.aviva.ca/article.asp?articleid=136Personally, if someone wants to do it, that's fine by me, but I'm not very interested in it. I do know a couple people who fall under the 'Flexitarian' method. But there is no way I'm giving up Bacon! I guess then I'd have to fall under that category. Everything in moderation, heavy on the vegg; but I love my bacon, ribs and sausages.

That flexitarian approach likely reflects our truly omnivorous beginnings millions of years ago. We ate meat when could gain access to it, through scavenging and chance kills, and the rest of the time we subsisted on vegetable matter, eggs and bugs. This is especially evident in Chimpanzee populations.....90 - 95% of the time they go without fresh meat

Everything in moderation, heavy on the vegg; but I love my bacon, ribs and sausages. I wouldn't call myself a flexitarian, as most meals have a meat dish (very few rely on meat substitutes like eggs, cheese, etc), but I also eat far more fruit and veggies than I used to, simply because I want to see my kids grow up and be there for the important (and not so important) moments in their lives. With the history of heart disease in my family, I'm leery of eating pork too often, but I too enjoy BBQ ribs, sausages and bacon once every other week or so. Most of the meat I eat now is chicken or fish, with steak thrown into the mix about as often as pork.

Fresh beef and pork is horrible.....it needs to decompose('ageing' or proteolysis is the polite euphemism) for 1(1 - 2 for pork) to 4(3 -4 for proper beef) weeks to be really palatable.

Pork sashimi is one of my old-time, down-home favourites! YUM!

Too many westerners confuse the term sushi and sashimi......pork sashimi would not be great, unless you like pissing out your asshole faster than you can chug from the tap.

Don't know if vegetarianism's good for our health, but it's certainly good for the animals' health.

Yeah, but just to reinforce the point veggies on their own aren't going to cut it. Peaches Geldof Cause Of Death: Could Dangerous Diet Be To Blame?http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2014/04/08 ... 11066.html"I do juicing. You juice vegetables and then you drink it three times a day. It's gross. I do it usually for about a month," she said at the time, "I have no willpower but with the juicing I'm like, 'I have to do it because I have to lose this extra ten pounds.'"

The biggest threat to a vegan's health comes from all the people they annoy with their anti-meat preaching.

Endured a pizza with lawn clippings last night. Asked for anchovies on my half so it would at least have some flavour. So I think they waved one overtop when they made it. Picked off the cheese, maybe they had a rabbit to feed the rest to.

Without proper research into vegetarianism, you may end up with nutrient deficiencies. However, by selecting the right foods to replace the nutrients you would get from poultry, meat, and seafood, you can improve your health and well-being with a vegetarian diet.
