When we talk to older family members, they often say, "Just don't put me in a home." But unfortunately, in Canada's current system, that's the default. If we can't have honest conversations with our loved ones, we can't take our demands to the government effectively. If we really love our elders, we need to start speaking up, loudly.
Long term care in Canada doesn't need to be prisons that smell of piss.

Govt making such laws shows zero empathy, compassion, respect, for the people. We reap what is sown.

The government didn't make laws regarding MAID. The Supreme Court identified it as a right, and the government must therefore set conditions under which it will occur.
That is what the government is actually supposed to do; see to the rights of the people.
