I would say - look at the parents. I've been single mom and taught my sons to handle loneliness with learning various activities- both are fantastic guitar players, chess players, great at archery and rifles, and other healthy skills. All done with minimal amounts of $$ and debt. I took great care raising my sons to learn how to cope with curve balls that life tosses out at us (pandemic lockdowns). They have done well and have no problem saying no and being alone. It can be addressed.
