A few of you have been following my wife's issues with breast cancer lately and I thought I'd just post where we were.
On February 6th she did her fourth and final chemo treatment. Her white blood cell count was way low (740 for those of you who know what that means) and we dodged a bullet and she did not get ill.
On March 10th she goes in for her hysterectomy (the cancer was fed by estrogen so the ovaries have to come out) and will be down for recovery into the second week of April.
Concurrent with her recovery from surgery she'll be starting six weeks of radiation treatments and from what we hear that will be worse than the surgery.
As if that were not all, about a month ago I get told that my job is going to India and my last day will be March 13th. Well, the grand plans to put my job in India didn't quite work out for my firm so they asked me to stay until it's more convenient for them to get rid of me. Well, God smiled on me and I picked up a new job that starts at $21k more than I make here and I will be starting at the new job on the 18th.
It made me immensely happy to give notice and know that I really cannot and will not be replaced at my current job.
On the downside, the new job will have me away from the desk about 90% of the time so my days of idly surfing the net and conversing with you folks will be at an end. I won't go away, mind you, it's just that I'll only be on here when I can get on from home - which ain't much, really.
But, overall, things are looking up for us and by the summer we should be doing pretty darn good.
Thank you for all the prayers and well-wishes I've received along the way here.
Thank you very much!
