Zipperfish Zipperfish: stratos stratos: Having a heart attack is expensive as FUCK. $281,481.02 for mine it happened on a Tuesday and I was out of the hospital on Saturday. Yeas that is the bill for my heart attack. Shit It is cheaper just to stay dead. Really sorry to hear this Stratos. All the best in your recovery. Just glad I'm not paying for it. It's going to be a slow process but I am getting better bit by bit each day.

Fuck! My buddy and his wife finally got here to prep their property for resale, they were swearing to return 'in the spring' and one thing led to another. I'd promised they could stay at my place and ended up waiting all summer while they came up for excuses to delay every couple weeks. So much for me going anywhere. So he's basically a hillbilly in attitude, so much so he takes "redneck" as Gospel in how to live, and she's a classic enabler. I've watched his health deteriorate over the years because the guy is so butt stubborn if you say something is good for you to eat, he will do everything possible not to eat it, to the point of sending back a burger as they left a piece of lettuce on it! No lettuce no pickles no tomato, no mushrooms only bacon and cheese only if it's that fake shit. So he's also diabetic, gotta take insulin shots. The first fucking thing when they got here was "he was crashing" and she ran back to their truck to get him an Orange Crush - he was holding a 1 litre bottle of iced tea with a few sips left when he walked in my door. He's my buddy, I don't want to see him fucking die, but the wife plays along with his bullshit. The ice tea was a "low sugar", yeah because they FRAUDULENTLY LABEL the shit with 'per serving' figures... that are about 1/3 of the bottle! I knew they were coming so I grabbed some gluten free stuff for her (celiac) and some coffee creamer and filled the sugar bowl as I know he likes coffee that way. The sugar bowl is empty three days later. I recycle stuff, wash and bag pop and beer cans etc. and donate them to the local Humane Society. I picked up this morning when they left to work on their place and found five empty Orange Crush cans... 45g of sugar per can. Plus five cups of coffee with 2 heaping spoons of sugar - while he was here, God knows what he consumed in the 8 hours they were at their place. That's over half a pound of sugar!!! and he's got her running around fetching cuz he's "crashing" umpteen times a day. I'm fucking gonna step up my lecturing cuz he's my friend and the worst that happens is they'll leave over me nagging and I won't need to watch him kill himself. No shit, this contrarian redneck attitude is real. The number of times over the years he ate his meat and potatoes and commented that 'the cow ate the vegetables for me'... went all pissy once as I offered him sugar in the raw for coffee (that's not real sugar), made cracks when I cooked ...WTF did you put 'kosher' salt on my steak for?... well we moved back to Alberta so we "have to" vote Conservative, that's what people do there.. like I truly believe they only got vaxxed because they lived here during Covid. Their kids in Alberta didn't... and paid the price dearly. The property they're selling is a dump, the house has had no siding on it for the 35 years I lived here, my wife was never invited inside in the 15 years we were together. I could tell you about his wife but it would take an acre of forum space to describe how she's been financially and emotionally used by him and their kids. Fuck fuck fuck I'm still blaming myself for not seeing how sick my wife was before she died, I can't sit and just watch this shit take my friends next.

herbie herbie: I'm still blaming myself for not seeing how sick my wife was before she died, I can't sit and just watch this shit take my friends next. Don't give up! There has to be a way for people to see the truth staring them in the face. You just have to find the crack in their fucking armour. Stopping sugar is as hard as stopping cocaine.

So yesterday afternoon some fucker broke into the mailboxes in our lobby. We had come back from grocery shopping around 215 and mail hadn't been delivered yet. At 430 our neighbour msg me to say it looked like one of the main doors to the mailbox wall was pried open. Mail had been delivered by then. They were probably looking for small parcels or keys to the parcel locker where the postman places things too big for the boxes. There are cameras in the lobby which should help identifying the fucker who did it.

So, guess how much it takes to get a cats teeth fucking cleaned. I got a quote from fucking $1300 to $1900, and three appointments. One to consult and quote (no cost) and get drugs (small cost), bring high kitty in for blood tests, bring high kitty back for cleaning.
I don't fucking pay $1900 to get my teeth cleaned! And I don't get any drugs!! Fuck! But at least kitty will feel better later.

Fucking big banks. I paid a couple of bills yesterday and noticed they charged me a $10.95 service charge at the end of August. I understood that if one's balance on a chequing account is under their "minimum" at the end of the month this applies but my balance was well above it so I thought maybe it was an error as they've done this before then automatically reverse it after the first of the next month. We're not talking about overdraft here but a min balance.
So I call customer service and chick I talk to says that earlier in the month my balance was below the "minimum" for 3 fucking days (and yes it was after paying a couple bills and before a deposit went in) so the charge applies. Like, WTF is with that? They don't fucking consider I have a TFSA account, a mortgage and fucking RRSP's with them.

Used to have my cheque deposited electronically. If Friday was the end of the month, they'd pull that shit. Bills automatically drawn on the 1st of the month would be paid and then the deposit from the day before entered so they could milk overdraft charges as high as $45.00 If you walked into the branch with a copy of your pay receipt indicating the deposit date and maybe the printout of the bank's online statement of how it was shown as deposited AND Monday's receipt they'd readjusted to show the payments went out Monday, put it into overdraft and THEN the dposit went in - they'd STILL argue the money 'actually took 5 days to really be in the account' unless you made a major scene in the branch. Then they'd apologize, reverse all the charges and wait until next time you got paid final day of the month and do it again. That's why I only deal with Credit Unions. Banks can go fuck themselves.

I was originally a Canada Trust customer then TD gobbled them up in 2000. My previous advisor with TD, who I had dealt with for several years, would always go in and reverse the service charge, regardless of my balance but he left the company to go to another bank a few years ago when they started cracking down on that sort of thing called "customer service". I've been bounced around to a few different advisors when renewals have come up for mortgage or RRSPs ever since I guess because my portfolio isn't very fucking big.

Opened an account with Caisses Desjardins (Co-op) 52 years ago, worked for them for over 20 years and I'm still a customer.
