BartSimpson BartSimpson:
Hmmm. If any of those people have dual citizenship can both countries claim the medal? :!:

I tease my team lead who is Fijian that he can't run very well because he's descended from Africans and Indians who couldn't run as fast as everyone else.

Ummm... No. Why would they? You compete for your country. Singular. Just like the Olympics.

First, I wasn't exactly serious. Second, if someone has dual citizenship then 'their country' is actually two countries.

Not when you're competing.

bootlegga bootlegga:
How in the heck is Scotland ahead of us?

It could be something to do with the fact that Canada is rubbish.

If there was ice 100 metres; ice badminton; ice judo; ice swimming; ice gymnastics; ice netball; ice table tennis; ice lawn bowls; ice decathlon; ice triathlon; ice boxing; ice diving; ice rugby sevens; ice squash; ice badminton ice weighlifting; or ice wrestling you'd be at the top of the tree right now.

You used to always finish third in the medals table behind the Big Two - Australia (a big sporting powerhouse) and England. But in 2010 you finished fourth behind Australia, England and India. Now it's looking like you may finish fifth.

Current medals table (top five)

.....................G.....S.....B.....Total
1) Australia....30.....25....32.....87
2) England......27.....24....23.....74
3) Scotland.....13.....8.....12.....33
4) South Africa..9.....7.....8......24
5) Canada........9.....3.....12.....24

We won medals in Biking (gold and silver!), Hammerthrow and swimming.

Canada won seven gold medals on the day, headlined by Damian Warner in the decathlon and Ryan Cochrane in the 1,500-metre freestyle swimming event.

Two more titles came wrestling, plus one each in weightlifting, mountain biking and the hammer throw.
