I'm actually an FIA licensed Race Course Marshall. When I'm not racing, I'm going to events all over western Canada. I used to go to places like Detroit, Long Beach CA and Indianapolis for Indy races as well, before the border got so uptight. I've attended races in the UK, and Belgium. Hope to do the holy trinity one day; Monaco, Nürburgring and Monza.

I don't watch racing on TV, so much as get hot rubber slapped on my face from the actual cars. I have a scar on my cheek from Danica Patricks' car wing that exploded when she hit the wall on turn 2 in Edmonton during practice. Second best seat in the house!

Sadly, with the way things are going financially, I don’t think your trinity will be possible in the future.

That’s an interesting spam post. Points for uniqueness I guess.

Since we’re on the topic of F1 though. Because of the pandemic and of the subsequent travel restrictions, the FIA is pulling some classic tracks out of their bag to round out the season. The Nurburgring, Imola, Estoril are all back on the calendar. Also added is Mugello, Ferrari’s test track.

That’s about the only exciting thing this season though. Mercedes is so dominant the race is over after the first corner. Even Hamilton having a tire deflate on the last lap at Silverstone last weekend wasn’t enough for Verstappen to catch him. Ferrari’s pace has dropped off shockingly, Vettel especially.

I'm racing fan, used to race motorcycles back in the day. Alas, Formula one not as good as the V12, V8 years.

Should be an interesting race at Mugello to see if the Ferrari can beat Mercedes.

I recall watching people like Bruce McClaren, Richard Galloway, Dan Gurney, Jackie Steward and Dan Sullivan all race the Klondike 200 Can-AM race here in Edmonton. Right around this time of year too 8)

I even met Paul Newman at the Edmonton Indy race once. :) Good times.

Oh, F1 still is boring to watch, and I will miss the Montreal race this year, but I do like the inside view on Netflix.

I hope they do too, but it does or look good at the moment. Ferrari have one month before the race at Mugello to find some more speed in their cars. Because right now they’re not competing with Mercedes or Red Bull; they’re competing with Haas, Renault and Alfa Tauri.
