I'll have to let my mothin-in-law, who I would consider to be a semi-professional poker player(her winnings supplement their income), who can barely climb a flight of stairs because of her bad knees, and who we sometimes figure is starting to lose her mind(she's 63), know that she is an athelete....

btw, is going to work a sport? At work I'm usually sitting around for most of 8 hrs waiting for something to happen and I only get a break from this once every two hours.

I love to watch poker and even play it. I played partypoker for my dad all the time and won alot of money for him. One time I won him $500 and got 10% of it ^_^. Too bad i'm not legal to play in the United States until next July. I also prefer Texas Hold'em

Maylanday Maylanday:
Golf does take physical exertion, you have to be able to walk a golf course. Swing a club , and bend over to pick up and put down golf balls.

Golf is a sport,
Cards is a game.

So, just because you stroll leisurly up and down a field that's exertion? Bending over is physical exertion? Well, poker players have to sit down and get up from their seats so I guess that's exertion as well. Oh, and one swing of the club every 10 minutes is not that tiring.

No, golf is not a sport. It is a game of skill, as is poker.

texas hold 'em all the way. and for those who don't think its a sport- i beg to differ- it's a strategy game instead of a physical one. it's a different category of sport is all.
