The future of curling in Canada got a big boost over this past week as we were treated to the most exciting new team to emerge on the scene in awhile. Team Ontario had all the answers in every game but the only one they lost during the play-downs. That that loss came at the hands of Team Manitoba must have made the eventual win over the same team all that much sweeter for the kids from Ontario. From the first end till the final rock was thrown, Rachel Homan and her girls showed that they have the mental toughness and the all the skills to play at the highest level. Congrats to Team Ontario for a fabulous win and a big thank you to all the teams that participated for a wonderful week of curling. Well done, ladies.

Congrats to the Ontario team. [B-o]

But in my books, Kaitlyn Lawes of the Manitoba team wins the cuteness contest. :D

That was impressive. I'm worried though. You can see young teams look invincible one year, then they'll disappear. Remember the year the Chinese kids looked like they were the force of the future? Where are they now?

Keep it up though, Rachel. No more of this settling for Bronze or Silver crap in the Olympics.

From what I have heard, Fiddle, the Chinese team simply burned out. They were dedicated curlers, training here in Canada. All they did was practice, practice, practice. No home life, little leisure time. Though why they did so poorly this time around is still an open question.

Glad to see the ladies rally to win the Bronze after losing in the semi to Scotland on a shot that Rachel, as the commentator said, could make in her sleep. Must have been hard to rally but they did so and I am very proud of them.
