BartSimpson BartSimpson: Bush is gone. Give it up already. Do you not often have disparaging remarks about Carter? I think bush has earned himself a lifetime of criticism and ridicule. Not enough bad things can be said about that man in a single lifetime.

"The war on terror involves Saddam Hussein because of the nature of Saddam Hussein, the history of Saddam Hussein, and his willingness to terrorize himself." —Grand Rapids, Mich., Jan. 29, 2003
Ah, that explains it then.

If only your hate would end up eating your guts out in disease, how's that for criticism?

President Bush, while visiting a primary school class, found himself in the middle of a discussion related to words and their meanings. The teacher asks the the President if he would like to lead the discussion on the word "tragedy." So the illustrious leader asks the class for an example of a "tragedy." One little boy stood up and offered: "If my best friend, who lives on a farm, is playing in the field and a runaway tractor comes along and knocks him dead, that would be a tragedy." "No," says the Great Dubya, "that would be an accident." A little girl raised her hand: "If a school bus carrying 50 children drove over a cliff, killing everyone inside, that would be a tragedy." "I'm afraid not," explains the exalted American leader. "That's what we would call a great loss." The room goes silent. No other children volunteer. The Decider searches the room. "Isn't there someone here who can give me an example of a tragedy?" Finally at the back of the room a small boy raises his hand. In a quiet voice he says: "If a plane carrying the President were struck by a missile and blown to smithereens that would be a tragedy." "Fantastic!" exclaims Bush, "That's right. And can you tell me why that would be a tragedy?" "Well," says the boy, "because it sure as hell wouldn't be a great loss, and it probably wouldn't be an accident either."

BartSimpson BartSimpson: Bush is gone. Give it up already. Why? It's great fun and relieves the tension of having to deal with the fallout from his major f-ups. Someday Canadians will have the privilege of the same thing with Harper. Mulroney is there already.

Maybe it's the lead paint in the Whitehouse but it would appear that Bush wasn't the only one who had communication problems. Here's some by the current President that make you shake your head. $1: In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died -- an entire town destroyed. —Barack Obama, on a Kansas tornado that killed 12 people
"The Middle East is obviously an issue that has plagued the region for centuries." --Tampa, Fla., Jan. 28, 2010
"On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes -- and I see many of them in the audience here today -- our sense of patriotism is particularly strong
"What I was suggesting -- you're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith..." --in an interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos, who jumped in to correct Obama by saying "your Christian faith," which Obama quickly clarified Okay maybe the last one wasn't a gaffe but I think you get the point. Anytime you have a politician who's quoted non stop, gaffes are going to happen and while Bush may have been the worst since Vice President Quayle he certainly won't be the last.
