With all the fires the B.C. Liberals are desperately trying to snuff out with the next election now less than a year away, it’s amazing that they can still find new ways to pour gasoline on themselves and light a match.
Who in their right mind in the provincial government thought it was a smart idea politically to give Community Living B.C. executives large salary hikes to replace the bonuses they told the public last fall would be eliminated? Was it really Social Development Minister Stephanie Cadieux? If that is true, did no one in cabinet raise a red flag, warning that almost no one in the public would accept such a decision? Did Premier Christy Clark approve the raises?
How does it make any sense to replace bonuses that were eliminated due to a terrible lack of performance — huge cuts in services to B.C.’s most-needy citizens — and then return them as salary?
And how does the Clark government explain giving annual raises of nearly 10 per cent to executives making around $140,000 when it wants teachers and other lower-paid government workers to accept zip? The raises are simply unfair and destroy the government’s bargaining position.

Every time I see that clown Christie Cluck and her political career all I can think of is that old prison saying "dead man (or in this case woman) walking".
Although, I wouldn't worry to much about the Teachers or any other union workers suffering because in another year plus when good old Adrian takes over from the human marrionette, you can bet it'll be their turn at the trough.
And we the taxpayers of BC will get to pay for both governments largess.
