Yup,
Looks like that tract isn't designed properly for breaking "speed records".

Of course hindsight is 20/20

I don't know, even if there was I dont think it would help much hitting them at 140+ km/h

Why can't they just cover the track with a net, so nobody can fly out of it? That should prevent fatal accidents, anyway.

In this case, that wouldnt have helped much. The pillars are right at the end of the track, where you are supposed to be hitting the brakes, holding up the roof.

I agree with you that it might as well have been a wall (like in the corners of the rest of the track), and netting on the other side so any accident would not leave the track.
I wonder tho, that if all these precautions where taken, he would have survived. Fact is that he went from 140 km/hr to 0 in a split second. The human body cannot take that...
