Newfy Newfy:
Every so often you will have Friendly Fire incidents in war, but the Americans seem to do it far too often. Do they not do recognition training. I remember an incident when they fired on a British armoured patrol. Not only did they fire once but came around and fired again even though the Brits were displaying big dayglow orange panels on the tops of their vehicles, one of the recognised symbols to signify friendlies. They also had Union Flags flying from their vehicles and after the first attack they popped smoke to indicate they were friendly but the Americans still fired on them again.
Americans can be very trigger happy and they shouldn't be allowed to get away with it.
Well put newfy. I have to agree with you on this. FF incidents are going to happen, its a fact. However the Americans tend to have more then other countries. Yes they have more troops then other countries thus increasing the chances of an FF incident, but they really need to look at their Friendly Force Recognition training.
Also the perpetrators of these incidents need to be punished, and not with a slap on the wrist either. Court Martial, Dishonorable discharge and jail, would work for me.
