As usual, the media blow everything out of proportion and considers this 'news'. He's the Mayor of Toronto. If he doesn't want to do something like this, it's his decision. Besides, I wouldn't think twice about picking Canada Day with the family at the cottage over a fruitcakes on a float in their underwear brandishing super soakers any day of the week.

Let the man be. He's earned his weekends off.

Although I agree that the parade itself could be off-putting to a lot of people, myself included, I think a lot of people who defend Ford are forgetting that there are a lot of other events associated with Pride week. I'm sure all but the most ardent of Ford haters would be satisfied if he would show up for any part of it.
