Ten years on, the Blizzard of '96 is still fresh in the minds of many Greater Victoria residents. The two-day snowfall on Dec. 28-29, 1996 left 124 centimetres (48.8 inches) of snow on the region. It caused widespread power outages, paralyzed transportation and saw citizens come to the aid of their neighbours.

Good thing it was a balmy 72 and sunny out on the penninsula cause the palm trees couldn't have taken the snow. :D
