Ten years on, the Blizzard of '96 is still fresh in the minds of many Greater Victoria residents. The two-day snowfall on Dec. 28-29, 1996 left 124 centimetres (48.8 inches) of snow on the region. It caused widespread power outages, paralyzed transportation and saw citizens come to the aid of their neighbours.
