Canadian_Mind Canadian_Mind:
Poland has been coming up a lot lately, but I never got the gist of why. Why exactly is Poland so much more vocal and concerned than the rest of the west, and what is their issue with Ukraine. I heard someone mention somewhere that Poland may be moving troops into western Ukraine???

The Poles have big mouths, too big for their britches.

Got mouthy with Hitler, knowing full well Hitler would invade.
Solidarity and blah blah.

Western Ukraine used to belong to Poland, long time ago.

Lastly, they are more concerned because they already have lots of experience with having
Russians as neighbors.

parts of it were Polish as recently as 1938....when Poland was partitioned the Russians never gave their chunk back after the war. The Allies just carved off a chunk of eastern Germany to compensate them for territorial loss. That too was a cartographic error, as two rivers had the same name and they listed the wrong one as the border. Where PF lives, use to be Poland from 1918 until 1938

A Ukrainian observation aircraft came under fire near Crimean administrative border.

$1:
A spokeswoman for the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe said no one was hurt when shots were fired to turn back its mission of more than 40 unarmed observers, who have been invited by Kiev but do not have permission from Crimea's pro-Russian separatist regional authorities.

Unarmed observers turned away with gunfire.

News reports from inside Crimea not rubber stamped by Moscow could become rare.

Take cover Russia, more warnings incoming!

"Don't annex Crimea or... Something... We haven't figured it out yet. We'll get back to ya m'kay?

Hugs 'n kisses!

The news is already surmising Putin will be moving into the Eastern Ukraine as soon as the Crimea finishes with their referendum. After all, there are people of Russian ethnicity in the Eastern Ukraine as well and they should all be under the protection of the Fatherland.

Sorry.......... Freudian slip, Motherland. XD

Nothing to do with violence in Ukraine really, but I saw this pic, and thought, "that's kinda neat. I wanna share"

You've heard of Vitali Klitshko, of course - the one of those two boxing brothers who's an opposition leader in Ukraine. And then there's Hollande - the little socialist who runs France.

All righty then, for the smile (they met on the weekend).

Kilitchko makes everyone look that small. He even makes John Baird look like a stunted North Korean.

Could be, but am I the only one who saw that pic, and immediately thought, 'LOTR'?

So to me the question was - Hobbit or dwarf?

I think this entire matter should be settled with a cage match.

Klitshko vs Putin. Winner takes Crimea.

My friend is a cop and his boss proposed him to go to Kyiv, they were paying 600$ for a 3 days(His payment for 4 month). He refused. I'm wondering where they get money to pay for that crap.
