If one pays attention to the importance of oceans nothing unusual or unexpected is happening or has happened.

The occurrence of tornadoes increases during times of La Nina. Since the eighties we have been experiencing more or larger El Ninos which are kind of the opposite of La Ninas.

What both the Washington Post, that supports Bart, and the Weather Channel, that supports Tricks, agree on is there have been fewer violent American hurricanes than one would expect for some time.

People who watch the Pacific aren't surprised. There have been fewer La Ninas with more and stronger El Ninos.

A similar thing happened with landed east coast Hurricanes. The IPCC report that started the global warming hysteria (I forget the number. It was the one that came out about the same time as Al Gore's movie, The Inconvenient Truth) promised more and stronger hurricanes on the east coast. They didn't happen. There wasn't a land fall, east coast hurricane until last year. Last I heard they were saying the hurricane decrease had something to do with increased El Nino activity affecting wind shear or something like that.

Professor herb notes it's been mild a lot of years, on or near the West Coast. Not only does increase in El Ninos explain that but recently there was a confluence of warm water activity in the Pacific they were calling "The Blob." Don't get too used to the nice weather though, Professor. Last week they were reporting the Blob has dissipated and disappeared.

The last great super El Nino of 2017 is relaxing its hold on the Pacific. Slowly things are changing again.

Climate changes. Have you heard?

Like I said, most of us have eyeballs.

Then there are those who are just "clueless." Unfortunately those can't self-identify - you know...being clueless and all. You missed them. Wonder why.

We look outside and see weather.

Others look outside and see one apocalypse after another all while denouncing the fevered imaginations of the religious kooks who implore us to, "REPENT! The End Is Near!"

I see no difference in one brand of alarmist over another.

The religious kooks have predicted the date of the end of the world over and over and each time they've been wrong.

The climate alarmists are the same thing.

Most of us can look out the window and notice weather over time, sorry to hear you're unable to.
Some people can't remember our password three minutes after they changed it.
That's why there's these little markers with the year on them at the foot of the icefields along with records and photos in the library.
