In England do these knife-wielding criminals kill or wound 36 people in 30 seconds like the Dayton shooter did? Do they kill or wound hundreds from long range like the Las Vegas shooter did? Do they kill or wound dozens of school children at a time like they’ve done in an uncountable number of US school shootings? Englands worst day of knife violence is infinitely better than America’s best day of gun violence.
Yep, because nothing kills and wounds in numbers like a firearm. Oh wait, 86 people killed and 458 others injured in Nice when some asshole drove his truck into a crowd. Or how about the asshole in Toronto that managed to kill 5 times as many people with a van than the Danforth shooter.
How about the Oklahoma bomber? Didn't fire a shot but managed to kill a bunch of people. The Kyoto arsonist managed to kill 35 people in a matter of minutes.
China managed to change the definition of mass stabbing when a group of uniformed men attacked people at a train station in Kunming killing 33 and injuring another 143.
Or how about the arson attack in NYC in 1990. Dude bought $1 worth of gasoline and killed 87 people with it.
And your concern about the death of school kids is laughable considering that on average 11 kids under the age of 16 die every day because some idiot is texting and driving.
So ultimately the question to your ilk is, is it the deaths that truly concern you or is it merely the cause that gets you worked up?
I kill 88,000 people in the United States every single year.
I kill 4,300 underage children every year.
I am responsible for 190,000 visits to the ER by people under 21.
Over 40% of all children in the 10th grade illegally use me.
I am the cause of 1.4 million acts of violence committed between strangers.
I am present in nearly half of all violent crimes up to and including homicide, rape, assault, and child abuse.
Each day I am used by illegal means 300,000 times but only 3,200 people are arrested.
My negative consequences cost the U.S. economy $250 billion a year.
I am alcohol.
Pic unrelated.
