$1:
Then-Liberal industry minister Allan Rock, responsible for ACOA when the funding was approved, had accepted a free family vacation at the Irving fishing camp on the Restigouche River during his time as health minister.
Seems to be a pattern with the Liberals.

There will be spending and program announcements right up until he calls an election. Typical Liberal fashion trying to buy the vote...

Get over it, every government does this before every election.

Harper and the Conservatives did the same thing in 2015, with hundreds of announcements in the six months prior to the election call on August 2.

Media companies in particular seem to be making out like bandits.

Providing they're prepared to spin in the right direction, of course.

This current batch of Liberals seem to be the most toxic we've ever had in this country. I've never seen this level of corrupt underhandedness before. Trudeau takes the cake.

This isn't just the normal spending spree by the incumbent gov't it's attempting to influencing an election by forgiving Canadian Taxpayer funded loans.

If Harper had done this the left would have been apoplectic and they'd still be cleaning the spittle off their screens.

It's wrong plain and simple but with the Trudeau Gov't nothing is to despicable when the end justifies the means.

Harper did do it. He wrote off 300 million in student loans in 2015.

It’s our own fault, though. Governments know we are dim enough to be bribed with our own money.

You've got to be shitting me. You're seriously comparing the writing off of a debt to a man who's worth over 8 billion dollars and who owns a chain of newspapers to the writing off some student loans. 8O

$1:
Other notable Canadians include the New Brunswick-based James Irving, who runs the J.D. Irving conglomerate comprising more than two dozen companies in frozen foods, retail, shipbuilding, transportation and more, giving him a net worth of US$8.3 billion.

One was an act of kindness and one was an act of desperation. But, I'm sure you already knew which was which. [B-o]

Get over it, every government does this before every election.

And they keep getting away with it because from the look/sound of it, you and many others are quite willing to blow it off as business as usual. I'm not talking partisanship, I'm talking about the whole goddam defective system and our willingness to just keep letting things slide.
But that seems to be a symptom of the way society is going. We accept lower quality and standards everywhere now.

We whine about what is basically minor shit while fooling ourselves that we live in something that even resembles a democracy. Voting doth not a democracy make if there's no govt accountability. And by govt accountability I don't mean voting them out in 4 years when they've engaged in what can only be described as criminal activity, even if it failed.

Look at the whole JWR deal. Ostensibly he appointed her because of a legal background and to essentially be the nation's legal adviser. But instead of letting her do her job, he and other members of Team Groper presume to give HER legal advice, so to speak. So, was JWR appointed to the job or simply to do Groper's bidding?

I guess you are right in some respects. Considering the 4 years of Groper stepping all over his own dick despite all the party "help", this isn't the hole in the rubber raft that'll determine if he sinks or swims. I think that has already been determined.
