Japan has once again called the Southern #Kurils "illegally occupied".

J#apanese authorities have decided to return harsh language stating that the Southern Kurils "are an integral part of Japan and are currently illegally occupied by #Russia."

Possibly suffering not from relatively harmless surface gamma radiation, but from exposure to alpha and beta radiation from digging of trenches

Whoever translated it, got that backwards. Alpha and Beta decay won't penetrate skin, Gamma will go right through planets.

Now the Liberals have signed an agreement with the NDP, whom have clearly stated they don't support meeting the 2% of GDP goal for defence spending we agreed to a decade ago. So the government will add a few bucks and act like it's a fortune, but either way, it won't be enough to act as a security guarantor for Ukraine.

Wait.. what? Where did they say that? They said they will not give a blank cheque to 2% spending. In other words HAVE A PLAN. The NDP will support 2% provided that they have some sort of framework. That's the reason why Canada's military spending is so shitty. No accountability. Show a plan and they will listen.

Singh literally says at the 40 second mark of this interview that the NDP does not support 2%, because "it's arbitrary".

He says he supports higher defence spending, but refuses to answer how much or on what we should spend it.

Exactly my point. They are demanding a plan.

Try listening again - Singh clearly says that the NDP does not support increasing defence spending to 2% of GDP, period.

So don't expect anywhere near that much as long as the Liberals rely on the NDP to pass their budget. We might get some small increases, but nowhere near what we need.
