Anytime some USian comes to CKA and spouts that they should just invade Canada and take our shit, I have written the same idea. We look like you, sound like you, and know you. They couldn't control a country of brown people who looked, sounded and were culturally vastly different. Russia has no chance in a country of their own mirrors.

And Ukraine knows it.

And we're bigger in land mass. It's far easier to control a small area than a big one. The U.S. military doesn't have enough manpower to cover Canada.
