Sweet mother of god - too bad it took her so long to figure out that it wasn't her fault.

I wonder if Chuck Phelps is brother of Fred Phelps?

She should sue the church and anybody associated with it. And the police should be charging Phelps for withholding evidence.

That's wierd, the church I went to never once told us that rape was ok and the victim was actually responsible.

So what? This one apparently did and Baptists aren't the only sect where this is a problem.

Atheists don't claim their belief is a way of total guidance either unlike the various christians sects do.

They also don't claim to have a lock on morality the way many believers do.

Well I've only been a member of one Christian organization, but as I said, they don't preach that rape is allowed. In fact hurting someone is quite the opposite of what we were taught. And they certainly didn't teach us that someone who was raped was responsible.

Actually most believers admit they are sinners and their goal is to be a better more moral person. But they certainly have no problem admitting they aren't perfect.

Yes, but so many of them also have no problem pushing he idea that people who don't believe as they do are less perfect than they are. Lots of sanctimony. Jesus said hypocrites are worse than anybody, told people to take the log out of their own eye before worrying about anybody else's vision and said do unto others. Like so many of His teachings, these seem to have gotten lost in many churches, who seem to be all about the old testament, moralizing and retribution.
