So you haven't got a clue then, and you're trolling as usual. Feel better now?

No it's not, but claiming you're toking up as a form of civil disobedience is sheer and utter nonsense. People toke to get a buzz, not to make a political statement. Only a complete idiot would think that people would fall for that line. You have to wonder how they mount and dismount their high horse with their head so firmly lodged in their ass....especially seeing that high horse is a dead horse that has been flogged to death whilst doing the only trick it knows or is capable of doing.

trolling as usual

When thousands of people gather on their legislature's front lawn and openly smoke in full view of the police, and nobody gets hurt, nobody gets arrested, and no harm comes to anyone, it is a political statement. People realize the absurdity of the law.

I do not think that this story is getting the respect that it deserves. Here you have career politicians who have spent their careers pushing for a faied drug policy, now admiting that they were wrong. A politician admitting that he was wrong! Think about that for a minute. How rare is that? It is rarer than hens teeth. I would like to see more of it myself. I would like to see a politician come on my tv and say: " We thought we could win the hearts and minds of the people of Afganistan. We were wrong. We fucked up. It is time to get out of that third world shithole." Would'nt that be refreshing?

The American prison population has quadrupled since 1980. We have the highest incarceration rate in the world. The countries that we want to preach human rights too have lower rates of incarceration than we do. 1 in 31 adults is incarcerated or on parole or probation. Children growing up without parents, all because their parents wanted to snort some blow or smoke some rock or weed. Were they or their home within 1000 feet of a school zone or a park? That is an additional mandatory minimum charge tacked on. In the city of Boston there is not one square inch of property that is not within 1000 feet of a school zone or park. Any drug charge will automaticly include enhanced charges. Was his coke in rock form? Thats really bad news for him. Did they have a box of sandwich baggies in their home? Lets tack on distribution charges as well. Did they have a cannabis plant growing? Thats a manufacturing charge. Was somone else present at the bust? Thats conspiracy. This unlucky individual could be facing life behind bars. Our prisons are overflowing with millions of people who are on mandatory time. Many of them have never assaulted anyone, never robbed anyone. Their only crime was they wanted to get high. They pay no taxes while incarcerated. We have to pay to feed and house these individuals. We pay for their medical and dental care. Their families are on public assistace.

The war on drugs has been a total failure. Some politicians now have the guts to admit as much. Ignore them at your own peril. You have the perfect working model of failure right at your border. It is always easier to learn from others mistakes.
