Ryerson Students' Union under pressure to explain 'baffling' $250K credit card bill

Ryerson might be the most "woke' university in the country.

So does "Get woke. Go Broke." apply here? Dunno. Maybe.

But a Shisha Lounge? Really? Ryerson needs one of those, does it?

Just look at the faces of the student union guys in the article picture. Doesn't it look like they're saying, "Who us? We diden do nuffin did nothing?"

It's just too much fun when people who hate the mere mention of morality bitch about the lack of it.

Give a bunch of 20-year olds control over a budget of millions of dollars to play with and something goes badly wrong? You don't say...

Considering universities have had student councils in charge of million plus dollar buddgets for a while, I'm surprised this doesn't happen more. There is less shit like this out of the almost 100 universities in Canada than there is out of any single provincial, federal, or major municipal government.

It's probably less those typically-allowable things bought with the cards as opposed to so many of those kinds of purchases resulting in a way-too-high level of expenditure in too short a period of time. Give some people that kind of access to association/group money and they can't help themselves from going nuts with it. Common failing actually.
