QUEBEC - Quebec sovereigntists say there's no reason to celebrate this summer's re-enactment of the historic 1759 battle on the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City.

Cry me a river of tears.

I suppose the US should give all the southern states their soverignty back as well. We could use this as a prescedent.

suck it quebecers, your ancestors didn't care enough about independnce to win, why shoudl you? It's been 250 years since you were french colonists. if you still consider yourselves as such move to st. pierre and monteque.

My father's family came to the American colonies in 1634 my great (x-times) grandfather fought at Louisbourg and then settled in Nova Scotia, where my family has been since... Every summer the Acadians come to town waving their flags and denouncing us Anglos for the Expulsion... I proudly sport my Scottish clan badge and fly my Union Jack and Maple Leaf all the while.
If the French had had their way, they would be celebrating a similar day in 'Nouveau York' and speaking French throughout North America.
Don't tell me I can't be proud of our British heritage in this country.

Canadian_Mind the PQ don't talk on behalf of the "Quebecers" they talk as separatist. Learn the difference ! Most "Quebecers" don't care ... that's politic

Some of these comments should be published for all across Canada to see. Then it won't simply be because of sovereignists that this country falls apart.

Really? So these comments would have spontaneously shown up, if not for the call for Quebec to separate?

We're tired of the BS. Give it a rest. Montcalm lost the Battle, lost Canada and the France sold them out for some beads and a bottle of whisky. History is history and can't be changed.
