The report, written by Hodgson and Mario Lefebvre, adds there is no direct documentation suggesting publicly funded stadiums and arenas will spin off into any financial success for those communities.

    I have no problem with public LOANS for such facilities, as long as the loans are paid back at market rates. Alternatively, the government can own and operate the facility as a revenue generator, provided the fundamentals are there for it to profitable. No more give-aways to the privtate sector though. People who opposed funding for arts thant can't stand on their own shouldn't support sports funding just because they're a "fan."
