A man who beheaded and then ate parts of a fellow passenger on a Greyhound bus almost six years ago might soon be granted unescorted day trips outside his mental hospital.

How about Li stay with these Doctors and their families on these visits...

Lock up the doctors that came up with this. I actually have no problem with supervised trips. He's stable on his meds and doing well. Very unlikely that he'll do anything while out. But, if he's alone he could decide to take of, stop taking the meds and bang. So have him be supervised. If they don't have the personnel for it, too bad, he can't go out.

Unsupervised......Li might end up back in the hospital in a body bag

This unsupervised trip scenario is a precursor to these halfwits granting him full release and you don't have to be a psychic to foresee what's going to happen if they continue this folly.

"From a clinical perspective, he has progressed excellently," Dr. Steven Kremer told the Criminal Code Review Board hearing Monday.

Clinical perspective be damned, how about public safety? Vince Li shouldn't be released into society period and because as he's already shown he at some point won't take his meds and someone else will be needlessly murdered.

The guys nuts and giving him a bottle of pills and telling him to take them everyday without fail isn't exactly a great way deal with someone who's had first hand experience in decapitating and eating a fellow traveller.

What happened the last time he was left alone?

Its not that he should be locked up for the rest of his life, its he can't be trusted not being locked up for the rest of his life.

I can't believe they are considering unescorted day trips. Whats to stop him from going AWOL and victimizing another?

Let him have a sleep over at Andy's house :P

Put a bullet in his head and call it done.

Andy won't put a bullet in his head. Andy would make sure he stayed on his meds (forced, if need be) and bring him back to where he belongs and should never have left.
    The luny-bin.

I doubt anyone in Selkirk has the balls for that.

It would however be nice to see the people standing up to this nonsense.

This is how your government protects you.. nice.

What are you doing? You're not supposed to refute it when people make up shit about me.

That latter suggestion would make the stay safer for Vince Li. Quite considerate of you.
