Well sometime around thanksgiving last year I accidentally stumbled onto another forum where I saw Fiddle and a couple other former CKAers but it was infested with angry right wing trolls and juveniles that and I got sucked into so many endless idiotic online arguments and conspiracy theories I deci...

Great regulation it’s only a decade or 2 overdue. Idiots driving at night with no lights or withDRLs only has been a longtime pet peeve. And as someone who has light-sensing headlights, I’ve more than once been the clueless idiot myself when driving someone else’s car that doesn’t have sensors and I...

uwish uwish:
all politicians deserve harassment, as long as it isn't violent. You enter public life, tough shit.

It’s funny that you think you’re a good person, or that the country would be better off with people like you running it. Neither one is correct.

Trudeau warns that pandemic will be worse this fall I stopped believing anything that came out of his mouth the moment he first opened it in Parliament. Trudeau says Canadians won't be able to gather for Thanksgiving, "but we still have a shot at Christmas." Sure. I'd love to see him try ...

Because what we need more of in Alberta is people with meduim to moderate mental issues runnign around in the workplace. And how much money will that save us, partisan beancounters? In Kenny’s defence, these people wouldn’t be running around the workplace they’d become jobless and running around in...

Wait a minute - so you admit we're going to need this eventually?!? As has been said many times in this thread, it mostly already is being funded, and the incremental increase isn't going to bankrupt us. And really, where's the harm in helping people now, instead of waiting a decade and watching te...

The aphorism "a rising tide lifts all boats" is associated with the idea that an improved economy will benefit all participants, and that economic policy, particularly government economic policy, should therefore focus on broad economic efforts. Author: John F. Kennedy That would be the b...

UBI should be tied to the median (pre-UBI) income of $61k. You make less than 61k, you get to keep your UBI untaxed until that magical $61k mark, over that, you must return any monies that put you over. I think the reality of human nature is that everyone earning over $61k would then oppose UBI sin...

Rejected by whom? And if you're going to say the voting public allow me to remind you that the Conservatives won more votes in the last election than the Liberals did so when speaking of voters other than yourself means they rejected the new Liberal fiscal plans. Besides your assessment means nothi...

Sadly I’m sure this will turn out to be another one of his lies and we’ll be enduring his insipid tweets and idiotic followers for years after he’s finally out off office

Actually a UBI of $500 a month is ridiculous. Think about it, it would add yet another layer of bureaucracy and solve none of the basic issues at all. You know what they'd do, cut welfare and disabilities by $500 a month, keep 100% of the staff on and make sure the downtrodden stay that way. It cou...
