I suggest we increase incrementally the budget to 3% of GDP over a period of 5-10 years. Once we have the equipment needed to support the CAF for a full generation of 20 years roll back to 2.5% of GDP after that. I agree. We need an initial infusion of major cash in order to re-equip and increase t...

Besides, it's not really a matter of which plane the Air Force will eventually buy anymore, as the CF has already invested money into the JSF project development. Even though the FCA(2) project hasn't even started yet, it appears that the winner is ...

There have been many improvements/advancements/restructering of the Canadian Forces recently, with a few being: 1. Standing up of CANADA COM, CANSOFCOM, CEFCOM, and CANOSCOM 2. Creation of the Canadian Special Operations Regiment 3. Acquisition of new weapon systems, such as the M777 155mm, G-wagon,...

I believe (and always have believed) that we should get the C-17. It is expensive, but we aren't exaclty scrunging for crumbs anymore. And, in the military world, you get what you pay for, and last time I checked it was in the government's interest to upgrade our forces with the best quality equipme...

Yeah...I kind of previously started a thread on CSOR, but oh well... Ikeaman...please don't get me started on the 427 issue, I think it's going to lead to nothing but problems for tactical aviation, but I'm willing to keep my mouth shut and hopefully I will be proven wrong. Do you think it's the wro...

The second one I don't know, probably too expensive to mass produce.

The third one is nothing special, just normal rifle with fancy furniture.

hmmm...I like his proposals about the beefing up military forces in the north, as well as the proposed purchase of heavy lift aircraft, but I think Harper and Mr. O'Conner need to pay more attention to the military in regards to this 'airborne battalion'. This sounds great, and a few months ago I wo...
