''Cotisations'' (union dues) are usually paid by the employee to benefit that same employee. Not entirely true. Here's one example from CUPW (Cdn Union of Postal Workers)with the relevant activities highlighted: It seems somewhat ironic that you only quoted one sentence out of the entire post. Agai...

In all due respect Zip, Unions have no business in funding student associations. The simplest way to explain is that students are not workers hence those protests are simply not strikes but the media keeps referring to them as strikes. ''Cotisations'' (union dues) are usually paid by the employee to...

Unions and medias dictate and run the province of Quebec instead of the government.

The FTQ, CSN, CSQ have long funded the student associations to maintain the protests.

And on the other hand, SRC and TVA have given the 3 leaders all the air time needed without any contestation.

It is reported that some owners around the league, close to the Canadiens organisation, are prepared to do anything to stop any team to transfer to Quebec City. After all, that would be direct competition to the Habs in the province. They would not want any of that eh! Either way, Quebec City will g...

The majority of the complaining regarding the lack of a French GM came from the media in Quebec and not the fans. Sport reporters in Quebec are the ones that spearheaded the charge over getting all stabby because they had to do interviews in English. Right on. Also, the fact that it is a journalist...

Actually, that was only a negotiating proposal offered by the Quebec Government. As expected, it was automatically rejected by the student associations. Apparently the student associations, fed by union leaders, are talking about some kind of revolution. They do not have the slightest care for stude...

The fact that the provincial government is not budging, that is something not very common in this province, but the Charest govt is only doing it for votes. The thing is that tuition hikes should have been done earlier, sequencially. But the fact that this current Govt backed in 2005 and the PQ alwa...
