Yep, Earth-like could mean it's just a rocky planet....like Venus, and not a gaseous planet like Jupiter.

So, maybe we should give up on the auto industry and get into a more hi-tech innovative product to manufacture in Canada. It's up to business people to create industries not Canada. Well, in Japan most of their industry and electronics have been created by research and development and economic stra...

The federal government has been cutting back funding for the research and development of high tech innovative products that could be a boon for our nation's future while many industrialized nations are increasing their funding! That is not the job of the federal government. That money would be much...

Auto jobs can't be saved??? Did we all suddenly give up our cars?? Will they never have to be replaced??? I must have missed all this while driving to work listening to sports radio... No, but we're going to in a decade or two. So let's position our economy, now, to do the jobs that will lead the w...

The problem is the fall-out from the failure of private industry affects everyone in the country including the government. They cannot afford NOT to take action of so...

If you have a better idea to get thousands and thousands of people back to work quickly then share with the rest of us. If not I suggest you grudgingly support bail-outs and loans to the auto industry while pushing your government to support a solution for the long terms as well. The federal govern...

Scape Scape:
Canada has an auto industry? Name one company that isn't Headquatered in another country. Canada should invest in becoming an industry leader but the heyday for the car is over. Have them file and restructure but no amount of money will bring back the 1970's.

Magna!

So, maybe we should give up on the auto industry and get into a more hi-tech innovative product to manufacture in Canada. R=UP Tell us what it is so we can get started on it then. Make sure there is a huge market for it as well. It will also need to produce at least 500 000 jobs plus other spin-off...

The unions aren't to blame.

The manufactures failed to stand up to them in the interest of sales and market share. They didn't want to take the losses that they would incurr if there were prolonged strikes and their vehicles were not available for sale.
