Someone should be conducting surveillance within a 400km radius of Paul Martin. The man's been ambushed by so many political hand grenades that its a miracle he can still walk under his own power.

| Bowering in his book, Bowering's BC, actually says that people that grow up here are BC'ers first and "learn" to be Canadian later. I've heard Michael Ignatieff--who is now an apologist for US imperialism in Boston--say the same thing. In fact, Preston Manning also said the same thing, tha... |

| What Chavez has accomplished so far:
"Just under a million children from the shanty-towns and the poorest villages now obtain a free education; 1.2 million illiterate adults have been taught to read and write; secondary education has been made available to 250,000 children whose social sta... |

Apparently Chavez has a 6 hour phone in program on TV each week. Could anyone in Canada do that, besides Rick Mercer?
If Rex Murphy had a 6 hour radio show each week, there'd be collective suicide.

| You didn't Dr. Caleb, but your country did. Therefore, if you love your country, you must accept some responsiblity. First Nations are now your fellow citizens, and you don't just hang your fellow Canadians out to dry. If you feel this way, then why should you support Medicare? What happens to your ... |

So, if I come over to your house, and "conquer" it by storming in and kicking you in the stomach, I have sovereignty over your house?

| I think Canada joining the EU is a great idea. Here's why: The EU would be a serious counterweight to the elephant to the south we've joined ourselves too. Through the whole 1990s and beyond our social programs have been harmonized with the US. If we were also part of the EU, and didn't like how the... |

Who voted for these people?
Fewer than expected. And it will be even less next time 'round.

| The actual quote was "Old age security is welfare for the aged." It was said by Paul Forseth then a Reform MP in the Vancouver Sun, October 6, 1993. He was re-elected as Conservative MP this June in New Westminster-Coquitlam.
Click h... |

| "Farm welfare"? That reminds me of comments by one of the Alliance, now Conservative MPs, who called pensions "welfare for the aged". Can't the sys admin put up a forcefield around this site to repel these idiots? I'm actually a little suspicious about this "great breakthrou... |

| Drink Sleemans. Their brews taste better than any Molson product, and in B.C. at least they cost the same. They recently bought a Quebec brewery, so they're now truly a national company. I also think they're now the #3 brewer by sales (tho... |

| Hi Doc,
I'd disagree about the guns. If I'm not mistaken, not registering firearms is now just a misdemeanor, no longer a felony. But if my prediction is correct, your greater crime a year from now will be downloading a TV program that you probably already own on DVD. That's how messed up ... |

| I used to think a lower voting age was a red herring, but I'm not so sure now. Consumer culture, which is tapped as one of the reasons for low voter turnout, starts at an early age now. These are the habits they learn and it stays with them for maybe fifteen or twenty years. If voting became part of... |
