This isn't a story about religious beliefs, it is a story of a father overreacting at his teenagers rebelious behavior. It would be no different if this was a Christian who killed his daughter for wearing make-up. The fact that this guy is Muslim is of little consequence. All parent's have been ang...

I too wish everyone at least made an effort. It saddens me to hear all these stories about people not only not making an effort but complaining about it! I'm glad my family isn't one of those. My grandma brought just about everyone and everything up to Canada from Ecuador back in the late 60's and ...

Yeah, that's true. But still, for every other visa class, you need to prove your English skills. Why not for the family class visa? I don't say everybody should be fluent, but basic English skills can help you sooo much... It would have saved the Polish guy from dieing, it it helps everybody settle...

I understand that he was mentioning the languages the students spoke. For the other thing, do you really think the school my kids go to speak to them in Dutch? Or speak to me in Dutch? No, they don't. And I don't expect them to either. The best way to learn a language, is not to be pampered. None o...

This is a tough one. No matter how bad the Leafs are, they still draw the highest ratings. Last week was a bad example because the schedule had 5 canadian teams playing in different games so CBC has to pick 3 of the 5. They decided to not show sabres-habs and flames-avs cause those are repetitive di...

How enlightened, eh! Judge an entire nation by the actions of a few. You might notice that their justice system did not bend to the wishes of this few or she would have suffered lashes and months in jail or even death. This is true. Unless the government actually goes execute the teacher.. t...

I don't know, I have a hard time getting a good feeling about the Olympics anymore. There's this image of amateur athletes competing for the love of their sports but all that money, and drugs and corruption stinks the whole thing up. I guess I just try to ignore all that and hang on to those magic ...

It may be true that it doesn't really help general health but there is such a thing as national pride. I'd like my country to compete in competitions and not be the laughing stock of the world, especially when we're hosting in 2010. Well I'd be a lot more proud to hear that Canadians have reduced r...
