Hello all. I have been searching but cannot find any information on food served to delegates during the Charlottetown Conference in 1864 and surrounding events. Does anyone know if the banquet menus were ever documented? You appear to have a computer so maybe you should become familiar with the 'se...

Seems the Liberals are doing everything they can to appeal to Ontario voters. They (liberals) had a long time under Dalton to address the worker protection roll backs of the Harris Cons but up until now, nothing but it's a start. And because they did nothing I'm thinking this is something the NDP wa...

What a nice little psychopath the parents have created; he'll make a fine CEO some day. Back in September, Ethan Couch, a 16-year-old from Burleson, Texas; caused a grisly accident that killed four people and injured 10 others. He had a blood-alcohol content three times the legal limit. And y...

Conservatives are losing support among Canadian seniors for refusing to expand the Canada Pension Plan, warns a national seniors group. On the same day that the Conservative majority voted down an NDP motion calling for CPP expansion, the seniors lobby group CARP released a survey showing Conservati...

Thailand UPDATE The upheavals currently underway in Thailand provide a rather fascinating lesson into what can happen when the elites (aka the rich) experience a democratically-elected government that does not do their bidding. They simply declare it 'illegitimate.' A story in today's Star reveals t...

Unpaid wages is an issue I have never experienced but just yesterday I learned of it first hand. I went to a trucking company near the Airport (malton) to pick up an order. The place was locked down like I would imagine the Canadian Mint is. When I got into the back yard loading area the doors were ...

There was something profoundly surreal about Conrad Black interviewing Rob Ford. This is what the Canadian Rightwing has been reduced to - a drug-addled Mayor being interviewed by a convicted fraudster. It would be laughable if it weren't so serious. Ford, who has now transformed his career into dro...

The 2nd best option for the Senate would be elected, and done so at the same time we have a Federal Election. That would eliminate the 'payback till 75' pat on the back.

The best option still remains cancellation of it.

I've got nothing against Paul Walker either.

Actually I'd never heard of him until he died.

And as you can imagine I thought he made one movie then I heard F&F was a series of movies 7 or 8 apparently.

Who knew. Well I didn't.

Of course the Senate was originally intended to be 'the house of sober thought', which meant that if the Party in power came up with some whacky notions like omnibus bills, they would review such bills and cut out the items that may not be in the best interest of all Canadians. Of course that concep...
