I heard a great saying the other day:

Please don't despair but keep witnessing to what is right and true. At least you'll know you did what YOU could. Sometimes nothing but faith and lots of prayer can equip us to face what is coming. So please hang in there, Deacon!

Flaherty wasn't much of a "fixer" this week when it came to refusing to help Toronto get a prestigious world's fair.

Dumb de dumb.

Have these Tories decided they can get along without Ontario? Are they taking some gleeful revenge for Alberta's past grievances?

Thanks for this heads-up, Ed. (BTW, how can you recognize a B52? And how do you know they have a corridor over your home? We have a lot of air traffic too, but I wouldn't know a Cessna from a fighter jet! Say - maybe they want to slow down air traffic with a terrorist scare, to make more room for mi...

I just tried to Google this Khalizad memo story, and it appears the memo was written in April 2004 and was leaked to Washington Post in July 2005, and Indymedia picked it up in June 2006 (Kicking Open the Gates of Hell: <a href="http://www.indiemediamagazine.com/article.php?story=2006062221453194...

Maybe Hizbullah's aim isn't to see how many civilians they can kill, but simply to demonstrate what they've got and that they're not going away.

(And also to change the balance of power in Iran's favour, which they're accomplishing.)

Does anybody know how many census forms were not returned Canada-wide? And do you who organized the Lockheed-Martin protest have any sense of how many people supported the boycott? Or what consequences they are facing? I've pretty well decided that if the nice lady comes back (and actually catches m...
