These are brutal! Visual recognition used to be part of my job, as a NESOP, until they realized that by the time you see it it's far too late. So we don't do it or practice it much anymore. If I don't recognize it, and then can't find it in Jane's or Combat Fleets, I'm stumped. Well done to those of...

If you want to join and don't know what trade to pick, go down to the recruiting center and try to find out as much as you can. They, confessedly, don't know and/or have all the answers, so keep checking around. If you're interested in armoured, for example, there must be some serving/former serving...

I think the league and the players have lost lots of fans. But I'm not sure any of them care when most of the profits come from joes like me. Luxury boxes, merchandise, tv revenue, advertising pays the bills. With ESPN not taking their option of another year might wake them up. I feel the players ar...

I don't want to jump on Mustang like everyone else, but here I go. Man, oh man, did Ziggy reel you in. You must be in a Grade 10 Psychology course and love using all the new big words you're learning. You might learn Logic in Grade 11 and discover red herrings and strawmen and how weak you make your...

If the shooter checked the area and didn't see or wasn't able to see the child he either was negligent or had chosen a very poor area for his target practice. The shooter and parents should all be held accountable - as a lesson for other shooters and other parents that they will be held accountable.

No one in our house watches very much tv (I watch the weather network before heading off to work in the morning, when I get up the next morning and turn the tv on, it's still on the weather network) but I have seen the Kick commercial. I had no idea that caffeine was the deal, I might have to check ...

The parents have to be held responsible for bringing their child to this picnic/target practice and then not properly supervising. This is akin to those parents who went away for the weekend and left their baby in his crib with 10 bottles of milk. Kids need constant supervision, sometimes more than ...

Die Hard 5? I missed #4. The only one here that I would like to see is Space Balls 2. Is this in the works?

I voted NDP only cuz I was certain that the Liberals would get back in but I wanted a stronger opposition. If possible in BC, we might have four years of reasonably sane government. Hopefully things will only get better.

I have two stories: the first was in Port Angeles, Washington. It is across the Strait of Juan de Fuca from Victoria, and you can see it from here. I was exchanging money at the Safeway (seems strange now) and she asked me where the "colourful money" was from. I was able to point out the window, at ...

The Gomery Inquiry isn't complete yet. Wait for his final report to come out, you might still find out the Liberals were right and that there were only a few bad apples. Should've been an RCMP investigation instead. But, welcome to Canada, where it's still innocent till proven guilty. As naive as th...

The TV/radio towers are taller than the CN Tower, the CN tower is taller than that new building in Taiwan. Is a 30' garden hose bigger/longer than a 20' firehose? Can't compare. NYCisHome posted a site and, to my embarassment, sucked in a lot of Canadians into spewing some hatred. Get over it, see i...

I'm not sure what she has to gain personally from this, a larger paycheck for Minister of Human Resources. I favour no political party, but I just see the Conservatives and Bloc as being opportunists and not considering the interests of the country. I don't like what the Liberal sponsorship scandal ...

I'm not voting NDP because all they do is whine and point fingers and offer no solutions. Anyone who's been in this province for a few years knows what kind of quagmire we were in during the 90's and that things are better now. A rather obvious example is the ferries: they are better now that they'r...
