I'm just impressed this government made a decision to send the DART team. The last government waited for months to make the decision and in the case of Katrina, they team members finally went on their own. .. now none of the team might get into Burma but at least they made a decision. rr, your corr...

Dude, the money's not going to the Burmese government, most of the money being donated by Canadians is going to aid agencies like the Red Cross or MSF, et al. Sorry Xerxes, while relief agencies are very professional and know their stuff, inevitably they have to deal with the government of the affe...

When a country won't let aid in, or puts heavy restrictions on how, when and where it is delivered, you can be sure there is corruption, and the ruling elite are looking to get a big cut of whatever aid money and goods they can get their hands on.
