If you saw the news today they are releasing photographs of people they are looking for. Now, of course you can have a conspiracy and claim that the photos could be from somewhere else, could be composite photos and not actually people, but as said, it would be silly to post police photos. It also s...

Sorry, when it said "look at the H1N1 scam" then I tied that in with the medicine thread to come to that conclusion. Asking for 'research' to prove the very definition of the term 'vaccine' suggests not much understanding of what a vaccine actually is. The last comment can be restated as 'you can't ...

It's insane to say that vaccine's have no effect. A vaccine is essentially simply a diluted or 'killed' dose of the microbe, which then allows an immune response in the body to be quickly activated. However, even mainstream media is starting to question the validity of the H1N1 'pandemic'. Poland di...

None of the stuff in the video OR in the post right after mine is 'evidence' in any sense of the word. Perhaps 'circumstancial', but even that is a stretch. Hell, those images could have been done in Seattle for all anybody knows. As for the protests, obviously you weren't in Montebello or Vancouver...

The other side of the 'why would they..' question concerns the protesters. For example, you can look at the 'black bloc' and notice that virtually all are young white males, and as anybody who has been to a protest knows, young white males are virtually IMPOSSIBLE to get politically active in leftis...

Well, we're almost done with this so I'll make this my last point. I think the above is wrong, and that the 'majority' ARE fairly well served-this is why it has been able to go on so long. It is a minority that aren't served by the political process, because they are not served by the economy first....

Actually, the increase in single parenthood never saw a rise until the eighties, and then it was marginal. Since 1995 there has been virtually NO increase in single parent families, it has peaked at about 1.6 million, which is a minute composite of the voting population, and there have even been a f...

Can't quite remember the gist of this, but the increasing number of single moms doesn't have much to do with 'democracy', unless we are talking about whether they vote or not, in which case, again, we simply don't know because we don't have exit polling like in the US. Lacklustre voting isn't a 'new...

This still going on?:) Inner party politics is different than generic voting. Single moms have a 'hidden ballot' like the rest of us, so there is no repercussions, in fact no potential for repercusssions. Once somebody sits in office then its different, then THEY have 'democracy'. That's why there i...

Again we have to go back to semantics. The 'right to vote' can mean a lot of things. In Switzerland and in most of the states 'voting' means voting on ISSUES, not voting for a representative. At the federal level US citizens can only vote for a representative, and that's telling, since the founding ...

To be fair, one can easily assert a demise in FORMS of democracy. For instance, Harper increasing party hierarchy, rigidity and 'free speech' WITHIN the party can be called 'democracy demising' (sort of). Likewise, in the sixties Trudeau took away committee rights to budget appropriations. Before th...

Two events don't mean 'cause and effect' but from what I've read there isn't even a correlation. For all we know, single moms COULD be the most politically active group out there. So to prove just correlation, let alone causation, we need to know: 1. An extremely specific definition of 'democracy' 2...

There are LOTS of plans. But if thats what you believe, then get out there and SHOW them 'the plan'. Number one rule of politicking-you'll never effect change by criticizing people (parties are different). Online is good practise for that. Everybody has their own view, and every view is as valid as ...

EVERYTHING is 'semantics'. I don't think its 'intentional', your average nominee is well aware of their constituency, and often works very hard to support them. In my riding, the conservative guy won, overcoming a 10,000 loss his predecessor experienced. This was partly Dion and the carbon tax, but ...

Who ever said Canadians have 'participatory democracy'? Canada is a constitutional monarchy with a system of 'responsible government'. Responsible government is the same 'franchise' afforded in 1854 as a result of the violent protests that began in 1837. Canadians don't even have 'representative gov...
